
Application Requirements
Undergraduate Applicants

Be enrolled at SDSU as a major or minor in a psychology program or a program psychological in nature (ie. child and family development); pre-major status does not qualify.

Have completed at least 3 semesters (or equivalent) of college courses.

Have completed at least 9 semester hours/units (or equivalent) of psychology courses at SDSU; transfer students are not eligible in their first semester at SDSU.

Have earned an overall GPA that is in the top 35% of their class in general scholarship (minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4-point scale).

Have a minimum 3.5 GPA in psychology courses.

Graduate Student Applicants
Â

Be enrolled in a psychology graduate program

Have completed at least one full semester of graduate coursework

Have an overall GPA of at least 3.50 in all graduate courses, including psychology courses

Transfer Student Applicants

Same requirements as the undergraduate student applicant (must have 9 semester hours/units of psychology courses at SDSU)

Transfer student applicants who are already members of Psi Chi contact the Psi Chi faculty advisor at the new institution to complete an online transfer membership form

The deadline to turn in both Psi Chi International's online application and SDSU Psi Chi's paper application for the Fall 2025 semester is October 10th, 2025.

If you are unsure of whether you meet Psi Chi requirements, bring a copy of your DARS to either Kimberly's or Taylor's online office hours.Â
